Parents With Dementia Can Anyone Advise Me On Caring For A Parent With Dementia?

Can anyone advise me on caring for a parent with dementia? - parents with dementia

I try to take care of my mother. It is the early stage of dementia, and more and more difficult. The doctor, consultant, and all members of my family wants to put in the nursing home. That hurt me the tears my heart. I want to keep their house, but my family thinks I'm crazy. Any contribution is welcome.

Can I tell the truth? I took care of my grandmother for almost a year. I was with her since the day they are diagnosed, they day we had to take into the clinic. She was unhappy at home! It had to be checked, and it was startin to lose their sense of things, but still sane enough to know he was controlled and was also aware that I lost grip reality. That's really excited. It reached a point where you hours to 24 hours per day. I would be in the morning, my sister for lunch, after my father for 1 / 2 of the night, and my mother, the other half. You can not let them control YOUR LIFE! My grandmother is happier than ever, now that it in a nursing home (make sure it has an Alzheimer's unit), a room and you can walk around and watch TV and an activity! I visit every weekend, and now they recognize me. But also recognize them!
Please note that it is hard for you! But it is his best for you and your mother's care before it consumes your life, when he made the life of my family!
God Bless,and best of luck!

The early stages of dementia can be treated, but later on the steps, I am very worried. Can the lift and follow his mother forever? Can you handle what it is, if they can not remember? It is a very difficult decision. You need to take care of him. Before the examination, a nursing home, go to the list of all your medications with your doctor. Ask the doctor what each drug and each is and why it is being used this test. I have a friend who has followed this procedure for his mother and it made a big difference. Her mother had been in a fog, when the doctor realized what was taken and how it is changing. The mother of my friend, now you remember them and enjoy them and talk.

You can leave your house. It can be difficult to cope with dementia - but at least you know what is and loves his mother. To treat them with love, like any other patient. If you as dangerous, then in a nursing home can be a viable solution. Alzheimer's Association support groups - even if it is not Alzheimer's disease - they have strong groups that can help you avoid the symptoms of dementia

There have been addressed, but I suggest you take advantage of day care for adults as much as possible, and remember to ask others for help. If your mother is poor, she can return to the workers eligible to return home and help with things like personal care, and you can get a small break for shopping, etc. At some point, you put May in the nursing home, but perhaps these things can slow down.

I work in a central repository and is safer because it has 100% of all nurses of the time on them. It is frightening to do this, because sometimes you even can get. or lost, and where I had worked, the doors closed so that people could not leave. As dementia progresses, probably reached a point where they are monitored 24 hours. for now, if you get too many episodes able to care for them, is only an alarm so that you know not to leave in the middle of the night. Good luck and sorry about your mother.
